Situated less than 1 km from Ruka Ski Centre, these cottages are just 100 metres from Lake Talvijärvi. Each provides a fully-equipped kitchen, a private sauna and a wood-burning fireplace. Everything was great. This place is so complete for a stay in Ruka.

We loved everything about this cottage - quirky, comfortable beds, an amazing kitchen area full of everything you needed to prepare and cook a tea! Also, for the aurora lovers this place has little light pollution so if the aurora was dancing you could see it right outside the front door which was just perfect for us! The owners are very helpful with any queries before you arrive but also during your stay, dropping a message to tell you the aurora is out or checking all was okay - Thank you for such a pleasant stay! A true home away from home 🏠

It looked much better in reality than in the pictures. We were so blessed that no one had been there the week before and it had snowed, so it was extra special having all the untouched snow around us. The cabin was far enough away from Ruka village to feel like we were out in the countryside, but close enough to be able to get into town. The cabin next door was empty most of the week so the only noise we heard were the snowmobiles going past on the lake which was thrilling to watch!! We chose this property due to the proximity of the lake and to Ruka Adventures which was only a 15 minute walk away. There is a bus stop 2 minutes away so could easily get into town, though the last one is about 7pm. We walked back a couple of nights and it was absolutely fine. The view from the window at sunset on the first day was something I will never forget. I imagine the cabin is equally as amazing to stay in during the summer with the jetty and patio area where you can bbq. We really wanted to use the fire but found the accomodation quite hot and didn’t want to have the bother of cleaning it. It was very well equipped with more or less everything we needed. The supermarket Sale is only a 20 minute walk away and very well stocked and not too expensive. We loved the sauna and the big TV was a nice bonus. The owner was very responsive and helpful and answered all my questions ahead of the trip! We really don’t think anyone would be disappointed with their stay here and we both fell in love with Finland!!

Having picked a peaceful place with 270 degree view of the lake adding a catwalk (for meditation and sunbathing) the constructor was just as thoughtful inside the cabin. The photos do not do it justice … you just want to sit and meditate and then sauna, eat, and then pick the berries around the house and go back inside because its vibe is so peaceful….
