Amenities and restaurant/cafe locations are within quick driving distance. Westport may have more choices but I enjoyed Louisburgh 74 in Louisburgh (highly recommend their seafood chowder!!). Connemara, Kylemore Abbey, Clifden, Cong, Downpatrick Head, Achill Island and more, all easily accessible from this location. You can't go wrong here, especially if you are a solo traveler. Mary checked on me daily to make sure I was comfortable and had what I needed. Plus, everyone really should be greeted by the friendliest dog and cat when you arrive home (even if it's just your temporary home).
