Everything, the place, the people, the environment, the house itself, so cozy and warm. To begin with, the place is near the mountain and the river, so the name "El Silencio" fits perfectly, all you hear is the wind and the birds. You arrive and are greeted by a huge garden with trees and flowers, by Sibian, the owner and Gladys, both nice persons and helped us in everything we need, even turning on the fireplace! The house in which I stayed has a nice living room with a view to the garden, then there's a nice kitchen and a chimney nearby with a huge window on the rooftop and in the main room you have to beds, and sofa by the window and a nice third bed in the upper side with a window in the rooftop so you can see the night sky when you sleep! I have already visited Cusco many times, but this time I wanted to go somewhere quiet to have a few days of total disconnection. I have heard of the valley of Urubamba as a nice place to stay and rest. There are lots of lodges, 5 star hotels and kinds like that, but this place called my attention because of its nice location and excellent price for what it offers. Totally recommended if you want a nice place to stay, enjoy nature and live a slow pace life. I would come back once in a while when I need a place to rest from the city life. (Huge thanks to them because I arrived a little earlier than the check in hour and they told us there was no problem and let us in and then they let us stay a little longer than the check out hour)

So much care and consideration has gone into the building of this valley retreat, from the beautifully landscaped gardens to the cosy and comfortable villas. There are even a couple of resident alpacas and three rabbits that roam the garden. It’s even more lovely than the photos show. Onsite housekeeper Yuly was so friendly and helpful, and owner Gustavo was very responsive with his recommendation for an excellent driver and transport for the 3 days. Both he and Yuly provided exceptional customer service. Another reviewer commented that this is the best place they stayed during their entire 6 month stay in South America… I would go further and say this is one of the best places we have stayed all over the world (and we have travelled a lot). Thank you so much, we came a very long way to be here and we very much hope to return one day.

The property manager Jimmy was very helpful and pleasant. He answered our queries and helped us with problems. The property owner Monica responded to my email messages promptly. The property is good value for a group of 7-8 people who are on a budget and plan to spend most of their time out exploring. There were plenty of blankets on the beds.

Just 10 minutes from the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo, Doña Catta Casa Boutique has a small house with 3 comfortable bedrooms. WiFi is free. Everything. Exceeded expectations! Catta was wonderful and extremely helpful. Arranged transportation for us to and from Cusco. Got us a great guide for Machu Picchu. The place is awesome and the view from the rooftop patio is amazing.
