Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyFor us, there was nothing to complain.
We were there for our second time and one year later everything was still as great as the year before. There were some minor improvements. This is still our favorite accomodation on Guadeloupe. We love in particular the sunsets and the view of Montserrat. Virginie and Bobby are great hosts. The are still expanding their paradise and are adding new bungalows.

United StatesThere is a nice walk down to a beautiful beach but the walk back is steep. We choose to drive. Parking at the beach is easily available (pay with card or app). Parking at the residence is very easy. There are ongoing constructions next to the residence done by the hosts that apparently will be done end of this year. There was good coordination between work and our request for silence.
Perfect for 4 people who do not mind sharing a (large) bathroom. Extra toilet is a bonus. The view is fabulous and there was a breeze and no mosquitos. Very pleasent stay with closeness to many beaches.

GermanyThere was nothing to complain for us. Bobby and Virginie are still working on the house and thus we only have a few helpful suggestions for improving their little paradise: 1) Add a mosquito net to the second bedroom. Our kids would have appreaciated that because despite AC and repellent the mosquito net made a notable difference in the one bedroom that had already a mosquito net (by the way, the design of that mosquito net was the best we had on Guadeloupe). This is no complaint because one has to expect mosquitos in the tropics or, as another feature of animals, the noise of chicken and roosters in the morning because it is quiet there and you can also hear the sea but fortunately no traffic despite the main road passing at the foot of the hill. 2) Add something to the balcony that can provide more shade in the late afternoon as the sun can be really too strong otherwise and shade is very limited for during the late afternoon. Keep up the good work, Bobby and Virginie, and have many guests who appreciate it like we did!
This apartment is on the lower floor of a house on a hillside and was completley newly renovated when we were there (we were the first guests). It had enough of all you could need, i.e. appliances, dishes, cutlery, etc. and, of course, all was in good condition and working order. The appartment's size and features also makes it easy to stay inside when it rains or if you have hot days. The view from the balcony, the living room/kitchen (big open space) and one bedroom is great, you can see Montserrat on the hoirizon (if it is not too cloudy or rainy), ships and boats on the ocean and enjoy beautiful sunsets. The pool is also great, big and deep enough to swim. You can also enjoy a great view from there and it is next to the apartment's entrance but on the upper level of the house (thus you cannot see it from the apartment or the balcony, if you have small kids you should stay with them directly at the pool). Driving to and parking at the house is easy once you have identified the road on a map or GPS (which can easily done with the address). The owners, Bobby and Virginie, live on the upper level of the house and are extremely nice and helpful. Unfortunately our French was limited but Bobby speaks good English and Virginie made the effort to use google translator to directly talk with us from French to German. They really put a lot of effort and love into the house and the rental appartment. They are there tto help if you need them but otherwise they give you your privacy. The location is good for expöoring the Northwestern part of Basse-Terre Island (e.g. Deshaines and beaches) but going to other parts of Basse-Terre takes about an hour (when going to Pointe-a-Pitre, consider taking the Route de la Traversée, it was much faster because the northern route via Sanite-Rose twice had a lot more traffic and congestions when we used it). Close by are smaller local stores for bigger supermarkets you have to drive close to Sainte-Rose so buy things accordingly.
