Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWe had an amazing 10 day stay at Marie and Fred's! Lovely friendly couple! The Gite had everything you needed. The patio area was lovely to sit out on in the evening, surrounded by mango and palm trees. Grande Anse beach is just down the road, about 3 minute walk. Plage La Perle, where Death in Paradise shack is, is about 30 minutes walk, we took the walk along the coast which was lovely! 30 minute walk in to Deshaies, or literally a 2 minute bus ride, though the buses don't run late in the evening. We didn't mind the walk back to be honest, we felt very safe over there, the Guadeloupean people are honestly the friendliest people I've ever met! Lovely!! I really can't wait to return! Bliss!! Merci Marie and Fred!

United KingdomThe gravel walkway to the rooms wasn’t suitable for suitcases to be wheeled. I had to get a friend to carry mine.
Very comfortable and tastefully decorated with lots of nice touches. Good shower, lots of practical facilities for eating in. Even though there were 4 of us in 3 separate rooms we could all sit and eat together. The pool was lovely and lots of shade and there was a separate communal area with comfy chairs etc. very friendly & helpful hosts.

BarbadosThe host Marie was a very friendly person and made us feel right at home, its so close to the best beach in Guadeloupe that you can literally see the beach soon as you step out of this property's gate and look to your west, and a gas station with a little supermarket is right there halfway between you and the beach, plus there is a pizza food truck after 6pm by the gas station and lots of restaurants and food trucks on the beach every day all day, we definitely recommend this place to everyone. Oh you can get here VERY cheaply by exiting the PTP airport (any Monday to Saturday morning) and walking to your right to the back of the vehicle terminal (just ask any airport worker for the Karulkis bus), the AE3 and AE5 buses come once every 15 minutes and take you from PTP to Bergevin bus terminal in the city for only 1.20 Euros each, then you get a white big air-conditioned bus from there to Deshaies (tell the driver you want to go to Grande Anse in Deshaies) and the bus stop in literally at a roundabout at the head of the road to the beach (on your right/west) and the road to the apartment is on your left /east just 100 metres passed the gas station - and this second bus only costs 3.00 Euros each, so you can get there for LESS than 5 Euros (per person) by 2 buses, OR waste 100.00 Euros to get a taxi from PTP there, the choice is yours, but I prefer NOT to waste money and get there in 90 minutes for 5 Euros - rather than spend 100 Euros and get there in 30 minutes.

United KingdomOur bungalow was near the road, which meant it wasn’t as peaceful outdoors as those at the back. However we weren’t aware of any traffic noise inside the property.
This property is a small group of bungalows surrounded by trees and gardens, giving it a lovely peaceful, rustic atmosphere. The owners Fred and Marie were charming hosts. We had a 1-bed bungalow and it was very comfortable and well-equipped, with lots of individual touches that made it more homely. Outside was a terrace with kitchenette, table and chairs. The small swimming pool with loungers was very relaxing, and nearby there is a communal open lounge that provides somewhere else to sit and enjoy the surroundings. Just a short stroll takes you down to Grand Anse beach where there are several restaurants, although they are only open during the day. For dining in the evening we generally drove along to Deshaies which is about 2 miles away.

AustraliaWe loved everything about our stay at Les Manguiers and we had a great comfortable time stying here. The place is charming with all the amenities you need plus very clean. We loved sitting on the porch watching the Hummingbirds feeding around the place. Marie & Fred are excellent hosts, and both went out of their way to make sure we had a nice and enjoyable stay. The Grand Anse Beach is only 150m down the road which is a beautiful beach. Deshaies is about 1.5 km away which is walkable or you can take the bus - better still it's easier to drive. There are also some Food trucks about 100m down the road by the roundabout - fantastic pizzas. Thank you so much Fred for helping us with our difficult electric car. Never again will we rent an electric car :)

NorwayFor someone who didn’t rent a car, the location was unfortunate when it came to dinner options. The only restaurants nearby close at 15 PM, and in order to get to central Deshaies where the restaurants are open for a longer time, I had to walk through an unlit area, which turned out to be perfectly safe, but still a bit stressful.
The host Marie was very helpful upfront about How to get there without retning a car. When I arrived I recieved a friendly welcome, and Marie was very helpful in explaining the area and suggesting places to visit. The area is peaceful and beautiful, and the bungalow is very clean and cozy

United KingdomThe room had everything I needed with outdoor kitchen and dining - the common area and pool was an extra bonus. It is a really special place - near the road, but very quiet and the gardens are exceptional. Amazing location - so close the the Grand Anse beach - but walking distance to Deshailes and other beaches in the area - by coastal/hill trails or the road. The bus from the ferry in Pointe a Pitre stops 5 minutes from the hotel.

GermanyIt’s a very special place with magical atmosphere and wonderful hosts! The house is inside a lovely garden with turtles, a small pond with fish, a pool and an open nicely decorated patio used as a socialising and breakfast area. The breakfast was very good by the way! The Grande Anse is located in the walking distance and Deshais is 5 minutes away by car. There’s a grocery just around the corner. The room was clean and nicely decorated and the kitchen area had everything we needed. We’d love to come here again!

United KingdomThere were a fair amount of mosquitoes, but the owners help give plenty of advice in managing that.
The property is very well maintained while still giving you the ambiance of being surrounded by nature. It’s also a very quick walk to some incredible beaches.
