Mitsubikiya er nýuppgert og er til húsa í sögulegri byggingu. Boðið er upp á gistirými með garði og ókeypis WiFi. Gistirýmið er með loftkælingu og er 800 metra frá Matsumoto-stöðinni. Great place with a mix of traditional and modern facilities. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Traditional Japanese breakfast included. Conveniently located, few minutes walk from the main station and Matsumoto castle.

Kamikochi Nishi-itoya Mountain lodge er staðsett 47 km frá Japan Ukiyo-e-safninu og býður upp á gistingu með svölum, garði og sameiginlegri setustofu. Location! Staff super friendly and helpful!

Located in the historical Shibu Onsen district, 渋温泉小石屋旅館 offers both private and dormitory-style guest rooms as well as an on-site restaurant where local dishes, wines and craft beers are available. Great location at the heart of ryokan alley, very hospitable hosts that can shuttle you from the Yudanaka Station to their place free of charge (prior reservation needed), nice cozy restaurant with kotatsu (very relevant when it is cold), comfortable ryokan with lots of space and a gas heater. The host was shinning and always smiling, it gave us good mood for two days. Also she helped us out with the reservation for the onsen and gave us a ride to that place and brought us back in an hour. Shibu Onsen Koishiya Ryokan are the best and we will definitely stay here if we ever come back to Japan again. ps we also left some chocolate from our country and asked them to pin it on their big wall in their cafe. we hope you liked the chocolate!

Great rooms, excellent food and service. Perfect location just around the corner of Snow Monkey Park. Free coffee at the lobby :-)

Hotel Fuki no Mori er í 20 mínútna akstursfjarlægð með ókeypis skutlu hótelsins frá JR Nagiso-lestarstöðinni. Gestir geta farið í göngutúr í garðinum eða á fallegu svæðunum í kringum hótelið. If you want to feel some Japanese culture and nature - this is the right place, and with a stile.

Yorozuya er í 7 mínútna göngufjarlægð frá Yudanaka-lestarstöðinni og býður upp á heit hveraböð, heitan pott og herbergi í japönskum stíl með einkaverönd og sérbaðherbergi. Really nice and friendly staff. Nice and clean rooms. Generous breakfasts and dinners with daily changing menues - the wagyu meat was especially good! Private spa with finnish sauna, steam bath, onsen water, cold bath, outside area and even a massage seat and included drinks was bookable for a small fee. Free coffee and tea available in the lounge (tea also in the room). Convenient shuttle service to the train station.

Oshi Ryokan er staðsett í aðeins 5 mínútna göngufjarlægð frá sögulega Togakushi-helgistaðnum. Það er hefðbundin gisting á friðsæla fjallasvæðinu, þar sem pílagrímar voru vanir að koma til móts við. Felt instantly comfortable and at home. Beautiful old building. Wonderful staff and food!

Yudanaka Onsen Yamazakiya er í aðeins 10 mínútna akstursfjarlægð frá Snow Monkey Park og býður upp á einföld gistirými í japönskum stíl með ókeypis WiFi. We stayed at many ryokans on our trip. None came close to Yamazakiya. The host family are friendly beyond belief, always smiling, always helpful. We got a free pick-up from the train, drop-off to the train and round trip to the snow monkey park. The place is cute, we had a huge room with fluffy, comfy tatami beds and a sitting area. Everyone got yukatas to wear around the house. It's a small place with two private onsens and we were easily able to book both for an hour for our group of four, giving us the chance to try two different rooms. We had messaged ahead to book dinner (good English spoken), a vegetarian option was no problem and my, what a treat we got. It must have been 10+ little courses, fine dining at its best. All around, highly, highly recommended! If you enter through the front door, don't forget to take a stroll out the back door - it leads straight onto the village's main street, filled with many cute, ancient houses.

Tawaraya er í 5 mínútna göngufjarlægð frá Yudanaka-lestarstöðinni og býður upp á gistirými í japönskum stíl með ókeypis WiFi og flatskjá. The service as this Ryokan was 10/10, and was the most authentic one we stayed in during our 4 weeks in Japan. The staff were so lovely, and spoke great English. They showed us to our room, and gave us essentially a "room tour" whilst we drank complimentary tea. They gave us a map with nearby restaurants and ammenties noted on it. The private outdoor onsen was SO nice! You book a slot upon arrival, which you can access in the evening with 30 min slots. The onsen was large and the perfect contrast with the fresh cool air in the evening. Yukatas were provided for us as an option to wear around the hotel - both my partner and I are bigger than the average Japanese person (Wife is plus size, I am 6ft 2) and we both comfortably fit into the ones picked out for us. The only thing that threw us was that during breakfast, they cleared the beds from our room - had we known people would go in, we'd probably have neatened the room a bit haha! P.S don't skip the sushi restaurant a few doors down from the hotel. The sushi was EXQUISITE and they even have a phonetic Japanese to English page at the front so you can have a go at ordering properly with the chef.
