Firstly getting picked up by the hotels bus/van at the train station was EXTREMELY Convenient. They loaded all our bags and even loaded them in carts at the hotel to bring to the front desk. Check in was quick and they brought the bags to our room and showed us what the room had to offer. My Wife and I had the Deluxe Japanese Style Room with the balcony that had a private Onsen tub outside the room. The place was beautiful with the room clean and very spacious! The Balcony has a beautiful view of the Lake and the Onsen Hot tub was hot and relaxing! They had a variety of Yukata to wear and free drinks on the first floor. We went outside on the first floor veranda to enjoy the night air. We saw some kittens playing on the premises which was a great bonus! Then we had our special Kaiseki dinner, which was great! Course after course went by and the food was great, especially the local Omi Beef! Then we went exploring the area and checked out the "library" where we just relaxed and had complementary snacks and drinks. Then the foot pool and the public Onsen on premises. We got a couples massage after and went back to the room to relax and soak in the private Onsen again. The next morning we had a buffet breakfast with all the normal fare, but also some unique Japanese choices such as fish to grill on the grill, curry rice, and Onsen Tamago(Egg). Checking out was easy and the ride back via bus from the hotel was much appreciated!

Very close to station, in a quiet village.
We arrived there by our bike and was allowed to store our bike inside guest house in a storage place near entrance.
Breakfast was delicious and full, traditional Japanese style.
Though owner is quiet, he is helpful, answer email promptly.
He gave me a paper box when I asked for my personal use. There is a kettle for boiling water, good for me as I like to drink hot water. There is a sink in balcony, so simple washing and brushing teeth can be done in room. A warm reminder to future guests: there are a few interestingly looking restaurants near by, but all need reservations before hand. We can't try. Do book.

Room was really big with two bedrooms with two different sleeping options - futon or raised beds - outside private onsen was superb - public onsen was outstanding
Very classy ryokan. Staff very friendly. Have a designated room for the dinner. Good food and Good onsen.
The hotel has a very nice view of Lake Biwa especially for the sunset. The space of the room is not huge but it perfectly fit a family of 4 with open air hot spring bath. The public onsen is also good and quite with nice view. Ard 45-55 mins drive to Gransnow Obuibuki
I loved everything!! It was amazing - the room, the fantastic onsen overlooking the lake, the super helpful and friendly staff who went out of their way to come and pick us up from maibara, the sensational breakfast and dinner, the yukata you get to wear around the hotel, the free udon and drinks in the evening. This place is really fabulous - i’d rate it more than 10 if I could!
I love that you provide halal food for both breakfast and dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed the spread! Love the small supermarket and yukata provided to us. Love the view of Lake Biwa from our room and the spaciousness of the room. We were delighted that there is a private onsen in the room too.
Everything. This place is magical, the rooms are so big and Japanese style, I had a room with 2 Tatami beds, a living room, a fridge, a beautiful space for sit and enjoy the garden. You can use the onsen for free. The owner gave us a lift to the train station, which was so kind. If you stay here, make sure to eat some skewers in the restaurant that is just at the front. Overall, this makes my experience unforgettable. 10/10
Lovely traditional style budget ryokan near a large strip of restaurants. There is an onsen which you can use privately as long as no one else is using it at the time. The manager is awesome, he offers you a lift to the station when you checkout which we greatly appreciated. There are some bikes you can rent for free, but make sure you ask early. It was great value for money.
Traditional Japanese onsen and tatami. Hard to find elsewhere, very good experience for me.
An absolute blissful time at Biwako Hanakaido. Comfy and pretty yukatas to wear. Excellent service from all staff, with free shuttle to Ogoto-Onsen Train Station. Delicious kaiseki meals and soothing onsens to enjoy. Great that you could book a private Onsen for yourself for a fee of 2750 yen (50 mins) and get a massage after while you're at it for a reasonable fee of 7000 yen. Beautiful zen gardens and couldn't have asked for a more relaxing time.
